Allies of the vice-governor of São Paulo, Felicio Ramuth (PSD), have said that the leak is part of a strategy to remove him from the position of running mate of (Republicans) in the next term. The offensive would come from politicians from the governor’s base.
Ramuth is trying to remain in office for the next term, while counting on the commitment of PL president, Valdemar Costa Neto, to inherit the position.
In addition to Prado, who also aspires to the position of vice.
Ramuth says that the investigation is part of an administrative process and became public in Brazil only due to a letter rogatory, from the (Superior Court of Justice), so that he could give a statement.
The deputy argues that, before entering public life, he transferred all his shares in companies to his wife, Vanessa Piovesan Ramuth, including Visio, which is the target of investigation.
According to him, Vanessa is the one who has declared the values and participation in the company in her Income Tax.
He says that is why he did not declare to the Electoral Court any accounts abroad in his name in the elections he contested in 2022 (vice-governor) and in 2016 and 2020 (mayor of São José dos Campos)
The investigation, conducted by the Andorra Financial Intelligence Unit, points out that accounts linked to Visio Corporation Ltd SA, an offshore company in Panama in Vanessa’s name, would have moved more than US$1.6 million (around R$8.3 million, at the current exchange rate) in an account at AndBank, a bank based in the country.
Ramuth stated, in a note on Friday (20), that all clarifications have already been provided directly in Andorra, including a copy of the Income Tax, proving origin.
“There is no formal accusation against my wife or me, (but) there is an investigation that involves the bank”, says the note sent by the deputy. “All resources are duly declared and with all taxes paid in Brazil, arising from private activities, and fully deposited in the period prior (2009/2011) to the beginning of my political life.”
