The individual investor is in the sights of B3 (). The Brazilian stock exchange administrator remains focused on B2B, but understands that there is potential to offer products and services to the end consumer. On B3 Day, company executives explained how different CPF profiles will be treated starting next year.
The segment was divided into groups. In the first, digital clients, B3 intends to offer, mainly, Treasury Direct solutions for investors who contribute lower amounts in their applications.
In the group of sophisticated clients, which includes those with high income and with a more diversified portfolio, B3 will boost its Investor Area — which any investor who invests in shares, for example, can access.
B3’s idea is to transform this space into a type of marketplace, with what executives call “value products”. Today, it is now possible to transfer custody and vote remotely at shareholder meetings through the Investor Area. The proposal is to bring other functionalities, and a tool for collecting income tax within this space is already being tested.
B3 also wants to include traders in this movement to get closer to individuals. It is a small turnover segment, say the executives, but it is expanding rapidly.
The idea is to expand the product portfolio with this investor profile in mind, bringing futures for other cryptocurrencies, in addition to bitcoins, and commodities such as gold.

Finally, B3 also revealed that it has a strategy to expand access to individuals outside Brazil and is working to facilitate the onboarding of these investors.
