A new total lunar eclipse will occur on March 3rd. The call “Blood Moon”, by the reddish tone that the Moon takes, can be seen in some parts of Brazil.
According to NASA, the American space agency, the phenomenon can be seen in full early Tuesday morning in the eastern part of North America, in a strip of Central and South America in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
In the late afternoon, at night, the eclipse can be seen in Asia. According to the TimeandDate website, people in Brazil will see the Moon from 5:44 am until 7 am on the 3rd. The portal will broadcast the entire event.
In Africa and Europe it will not be possible to observe the Moon. In the westernmost part of the country, states such as Amazonas, Acre and Roraima should be able to see the eclipse better.
A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth casts its shadow on the Moon. During the event, the satellite acquires a reddish or orange color, being popularly called the “Blood Moon”.
As NASA explains, this occurs because our planet prevents direct light from the Sun from reaching the Moon. The light that still manages to reach the lunar surface is first filtered by the Earth’s atmosphere..
