- He ruled out dialogue with South Korea.
- North Korea will continue to strengthen its nuclear program.
- He considers nuclear weapons to be a guarantee of the country’s security.
Kim’s comments came after the conclusion of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea congress in Pyongyang. According to him, North Korea has no reason not to get along with the United States if they abandon its hostile policy.
At the same time, the leader of the DPRK declared that his country will continue to focus on its nuclear program. “It is our party’s firm and unwavering intention to further strengthen the state’s nuclear forces and consistently apply the status of a nuclear power,” KCNA quoted Kim as saying.
It marks the core as a warranty
“Our status as a nuclear power plays an important role in deterring potential threats from enemies and maintaining regional stability,” Kim continued. He called North Korea’s nuclear weapons a “guarantee” of its security and interests.
At the same time, the leader of the DPRK warned that his country would take retaliatory measures in the event of any hostile attacks. “Our armed forces are fully prepared to face any circumstances… Our military will carry out terrible retaliatory attacks against any forces the moment they commit hostile military acts violating our national sovereignty and security interests,” Kim declared.
The 9th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea began last week on Thursday. According to Jonhap, the goal was to review the policy results of the previous convention and set new goals for the next five years. In connection with its termination, Pyongyang held a military parade.
