After articulation by the government, the INSS CPMI approved, this Thursday, the 26th, all the requests on the agenda, which targeted, among others, Fábio Luís da Silva, Lulinha, son of president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Augusto Lima, former partner of Banco Master, former parliamentarians and those investigated by the Federal Police accused of participating in the fraudulent scheme of associative discounts and even the president of Palmeiras, Leila Pereira.
The government worked to have all 87 requests voted on together and then overturned. The opposition wanted to vote on each of the items separately. In the end, in a symbolic vote, the president of CPMI, Carlos Viana (Podemos-MG), consecrated the opposition’s victory. The commission room then became the scene of a fight. The session was interrupted and TV Senado stopped broadcasting video from the scene.
This Thursday’s meeting is considered one of the most important in this final stretch of the commission’s work because the approved requests will arrive and be analyzed before March 28, when the collegiate’s operating period comes to an end.
Members of the government went to the table, where the president and the rapporteur, deputy Alfredo Gaspar (União-AL) were. The Legislative Police tried to block the approach, as did opposition deputies. The atmosphere became more tense after a confusion between deputies Rogério Correia (PT-MG), government member, and Evair Vieira de Melo (PP-ES), from the opposition.
Government members defended the block vote saying that there was a shield from the president of the CPMI, senator Carlos Viana (Podemos-MG), who, according to them, would only submit requests favorable to the opposition.
“From the moment you (Viana) put the requests on the agenda, we are willing to analyze the other requests. You put requests that have already been rejected on the agenda and do not include elements that have not been analyzed”, he stated.

PT parliamentarians wanted the INSS CPMI to file requests against the former president of the Central Bank Roberto Campos Neto, members of the Lagoinha Church, of which Viana is a member, and other former members and allies who were part of Jair Bolsonaro’s administration when he was president – even senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ).
