STF minister André Mendonça decided this Thursday (26) that minister Dias Toffoli’s brothers are not obliged to appear and give testimony to the Organized Crime CPI.
The decision came at the request of Eugênio Dias Toffoli and José Carlos Dias Toffoli, brothers of Dias Toffoli, who had initially been summoned to testify and, therefore, were obliged to appear. They argued that they were summoned under investigation and therefore should not be forced to give a statement.
José Carlos Dias Toffoli and José Eugênio Dias Toffoli were summoned to appear at the CPI on Wednesday (25). There was also approval of a request to break the tax secrecy of Maridt Participações, a company registered in their name, but whose real owner was Minister Dias Toffoli himself.
