Councilor who ran over her boyfriend after being attacked speaks out on social media

The councilor of Embu das Artes, Aline Santos (MDB), 36 years old, published a video on social media this Wednesday (25) to talk about the case that is still in court. On December 25, 2025, after reporting that she was a victim of domestic violence, the parliamentarian ran over her boyfriend, Bruno Marcelo Araujo de Souza, with her car, in the municipality of Greater São Paulo.

The case is investigated by the Women’s Defense Police Station (DDM) of Embu das Artes, responsible for initiating the police investigation. The team works to listen to the parties involved and carries out investigations to clarify the facts.

According to the police report, Aline reported that she and Bruno left on a motorcycle and that, at a certain point, he stopped the vehicle and left it there.

When he returned, the councilor questioned why he had left the motorcycle there, when, according to the record, Bruno started attacking her.

In the report, he allegedly attacked the victim with punches and kicks, causing injuries to the nose and face, as well as bruises on the arms and legs.

After the attacks, Aline got into the car to leave the scene, but the suspect placed the motorcycle in front of the vehicle, preventing her from leaving.

Fearing further aggression, the councilor ended up running over Bruno.

Also according to the record, guards were informed that Bruno fled with Aline’s cell phone and was using the device to send messages to the parliamentarian’s advisor, stating that he would kill her if she filed a report against him. A CNN Brazil attempts to contact the accused.

The councilor released an official note about the case:

“The episode that occurred at the end of last year involved an attack of which I was the victim, a fact recorded in a police report and which is still being analyzed by the Courts. As it is an issue relating to my personal life, I maintain complete discretion over details, always with responsibility and respect for the parties involved. I reaffirm that I remain fully focused on my work, my mandate and the demands of the population.”
