The state deputy (-SP) will present a bill, this Monday (2), which proposes free Bom Prato meals for the entire population in the state of São Paulo.
Today, breakfast costs R$0.50, and lunch or dinner, R$1. The Government of São Paulo guarantees free access to the homeless population who are not in a hostel and children up to six years old.
Suplicy defends the project as a way to combat food insecurity and reduce bureaucracy for those who need to access the service for free.
“The loss of the card [necessário para a gratuidade] It’s common and the difficulty in getting a new one is enormous”, says Roseli Kraemer, coordinator of the São Paulo City Forum in Defense of the Homeless Population.
