The United States Central Command (Centcom) denied this Sunday (1st) that the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln was hit by Iranian missiles, contradicting statements published by Iran’s state media.
Earlier, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed to have attacked the US aircraft carrier with four ballistic missiles, according to official Iranian media outlets.
In a statement, Centcom said that the vessel did not suffer any damage.

“The missiles launched didn’t even come close,” the command said, adding that the Lincoln continues to launch aircraft in support of its “tireless campaign to defend the American people by eliminating threats from the Iranian regime.”
In another communication, Central Command went further and classified the claim that the USS Abraham Lincoln had been hit as a “lie.”

Lincoln’s strike group also usually includes three destroyers equipped with Tomahawk cruise missiles for land attacks.
Typically, the formation is also accompanied by a nuclear-powered submarine, which can fire the same type of missile.
