This paradise with paradisiacal beaches and cheap cost of living is 'right next door' and already has direct flights from Portugal

Soltour, one of the main independent tour operators on the Iberian Peninsula, continues to invest heavily in the Portuguese market and has expanded its schedule for the summer of 2026. As a big new feature, the company will offer direct flights to Tunisia, a destination that combines paradisiacal beaches, rich cultural heritage and hospitable tradition, located relatively close to Portugal.

Weekly direct calls

The schedule now includes weekly direct connections from Lisbon and Porto, making it easier for Portuguese travelers to access this North African destination. Flights beganin the summer of 2025 and remain in the summer 2026 offer, with departures between June and September, which are periods considered key for holidays in the Mediterranean.

New direct connections to the main tourist destinations

Passengers departing from Porto now have direct flights to Djerba and Monastir, while from Lisbon it will be possible to travel to Enfidha airport, which serves the Hammamet region, one of Tunisia’s most popular beach destinations, known for its long beaches and mild climate.

With this strategic investment, Soltour reinforces its commitment to offering quality destinations, with complete packages and operations designed to provide a hassle-free travel experience.

A strategic bet on the Portuguese market

Last year, Soltour celebrated 50 years of activity, consolidating its position as a reference operator in the sector. The expansion of the offer to Tunisia also reinforces the collaboration with travel agencies in Portugal, which can now offer more diversified packages adapted to the preferences of their customers.

“Tunisia has been a destination of choice for Portuguese travelers, combining idyllic beaches, vibrant culture and a varied hotel offer. Last year, for example, our operation from Porto to Djerba recorded high occupancy rates. We want to respond to this demand by maintaining well-received operations and adding new connections,” says Luís Santos, Soltour’s Commercial Director for Portugal and Spain, highlighting the convenience, security and price competitiveness with Soltour’s seal of quality.

Tunisia: a destination that combines sun, culture and tradition

Tunisia stands out for the diversity of its tourist offer, combining golden sand beaches, traditional markets and a rich historical legacy, the result of centuries of crossing civilizations, with these main destinations:

  • Djerba: the island of Djerba enchants with its mix of cultural influences over the centuries and its peaceful atmosphere, ideal for those looking for rest by the sea;
  • Monastir: Monastir combines a significant historical heritage with magnificent beaches, being preferred by those looking for an experience that combines leisure with cultural discovery;
  • Hammamet (via Enfidha): Near Enfidha, Hammamet stands out for its stunning beaches, modern resorts and lively nightlife during high season.

Affordable and diverse tour packages

With Portuguese travelers in mind, the same company has prepared a wide range of exclusive packages for Tunisia, with flexible and affordable options for different vacation profiles.

For those leaving Lisbon, during the summer months the operator offers packages with 7 nights in 4-star hotels, on a half-board or all-inclusive basis, with direct flights from €809 per person. From Porto, there are similar options, with 7-night stays in 4-star hotels on half board, from €808 per person.

With this new program, it offers Portuguese travelers a complete experience, with convenience, safety, competitive prices and the possibility of enjoying the best that Tunisia has to offer. Bookings are now available at travel agencies in Portugal, allowing you to plan your summer holidays in advance.
