Minister cited Alckmin, Tebet, Haddad and França as part of the thread that defines her decision; agreement depends on a decisive conversation with the president
The Minister of the Environment, (Rede), said this Saturday (Mar 7, 2026) that his decision on whether to run for the Senate in São Paulo in 2026 is still open and depends on conversations with the president (PT) and allies. She cited the vice president (PSB), the Minister of Finance (PT), the Minister of Planning (MDB) and the Minister of Entrepreneurship Márcio França (PSB) as part of the dialogues.
“A debate is being held in São Paulo – both me and Haddad, Tebet, vice-president Geraldo Alckmin, Márcio França. There are several leaders, the good thing is that there are a lot of people there to contribute”he declared, during a visit to the headquarters of Ibama (Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources) in Teresina, Piauí.
The minister must leave the government by April to meet the electoral deadline. Her candidacy in São Paulo is considered certain, but it is not yet defined which party she would run for: PT, PSB or Rede. A decisive conversation with Lula is missing. She said that.
