MP-SP calls for investigation to investigate virtual persecution and threats to Vorcaro and family

According to the ordinance, the investigation must investigate the publication of “false, humiliating and abusive allegations, using images of the victim’s family members”

The Public Ministry of São Paulo (MP-SP) requested the opening of a police investigation to investigate suspicions of virtual persecution and threats to banker Daniel Vorcaro and his family.

According to the ordinance, the investigation must investigate the publication of “false, humiliating and abusive allegations, using images of the victim’s family members” and the sending of “messages with threatening content” through social networks.

The investigation is based on a representation made by lawyer Vanessa Souza, who specializes in technology laws and represents the businessman’s family. The document listed threatening messages received on social media from Vorcaro’s daughter and social media posts made by influencers.

“All narratives presented in the repeated posts of those represented contain false, abusive and humiliating allegations, and often use images of victims’ family members without any consent,” he wrote in the representation. When contacted, the lawyer said she would not speak.

The request for a police investigation was made at the end of February, before the businessman’s second preventive arrest, ordered by the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) André Mendonça.

Vorcaro was arrested last week on suspicion of maintaining a type of private militia that was used to threaten opponents and invade the computer systems of investigative bodies, with the aim of obtaining confidential documents from the cases in progress against him.
