To prepare the basic version of whipped feta, you will need:

  • 1 package of feta cheese,
  • 5 tablespoons of natural yogurt,
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic,
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice,
  • a little salt and pepper to taste,
  • optional: 1 tablespoon of lemon zest and a few fresh mint leaves,
  • olive oil,
  • fresh herbs for sprinkling, e.g. dill, mint, basil.

Preparation:

  1. Place all ingredients (except olive oil and herbs) in a blender and mix thoroughly. Do this for a long time until you get a smooth cream.
  2. Pour olive oil over the whipped feta cheese and sprinkle with chopped herbs. It tastes great with bread, fresh sourdough bread or pita bread.

You can also prepare whipped feta cheese with baked tomatoeswill be an excellent option for dinner or a quick dish for guests.

Ingredients to prepare a family portion:

  • 2 packages of feta cheese,
  • 10 tablespoons of Greek yogurt,
  • 1 head of garlic,
  • ½ half a lemon,
  • 400 g cherry tomatoes + a bit of olive oil,
  • ½ bunch of dill,
  • salt and pepper to taste.

Additionally:

  • olive oil for pouring,
  • ½ bunch of dill.

Preparation:

  1. Start by washing and drying the tomatoes. Then put them into an ovenproof dish. Place a head of garlic between them. Sprinkle them lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake for 20 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.
  2. Blend the feta thoroughly with yogurt, squeezed lemon juice, salt and pepper and squeezed cloves of baked garlic. Then beat everything with a mixer.
  3. Place the whipped feta cheese in a platter or large plate, then add the baked tomatoes, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with dill.
  4. Serve with toasted bread or pita bread.
