The Iranian Guards and the Lebanese Hezbollah attacked dozens of targets in Israel in a coordinated operation. The strikes also hit American bases in the region.
Shortly after midnight on Thursday, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards announced that they had launched a joint military operation with their Lebanese ally, the Hezbollah movement, against targets in Israel. It was reported by the AFP agency.

In a statement carried by the Fars and Tasnim news agencies, the Revolutionary Guards said the “joint and integrated operation” involved a missile strike by Iran carried out in conjunction with rocket and drone fire by Hezbollah.
Attacks on military targets
The operation targeted “more than 50 targets” in Israeli territory. Israeli military bases in Haifa, Tel Aviv and Beer Sheva were also reportedly targeted. The Guards also attacked the American bases of al-Kharj in Saudi Arabia and al-Azrak in Jordan.
Warnings of the attack have been issued in Saudi Arabia, but no damage has been reported so far. Jordan announced that there was no attack on its territory.
Israel responds to the threat
The Israeli military said shortly before midnight on Wednesday that it had identified rockets headed from Iran into Israeli territory and urged residents in the threatened areas to take shelter. “Defense systems are working to intercept the threat,” the military wrote on its account on the Telegram platform.
Sirens were subsequently sounded in several places in Israel, including Jerusalem, where explosions were heard at approximately 00:35 local time.
Casualties not reported
The Israeli rescue service Magen David Adom (MDA) said that no casualties were reported after the rocket fire. However, rescuers treated several people who were injured while fleeing to shelters.
The Israeli army later announced that residents could leave the shelters. At the same time, she reported that Israeli troops had launched a “large-scale wave of attacks” on the Iranian capital, Tehran.
