Last year, people in Austria worked around one in four hours of overtime unpaid – a loss of 2.5 billion in wages


Austria’s employees worked around 45.9 million overtime hours in the previous year without being compensated for this through pay or compensatory time. That’s around 27 percent of total overtime. This emerges from a calculation that the Austrian Trade Union Confederation (ÖGB) has just made based on data from Statistics Austria.
