Anyone who saw Khatia Buniatishvili’s performance at the Musikverein in 2023 may still remember the delay after the break. For quite a while there was no sign of a pianist – whereupon the audience began to clap for the Georgian. She then appeared somewhat embarrassed at the piano – and made a cradling gesture as an apology: her baby had not wanted to part with her in the artist’s room. The fan base applauded with smiles.
