Tiago Grila confessed to a hit-and-run accident, laughing, on a podcast.
Everything in the hands of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, after the police recommended charges of harm to physical integrity and failure to provide assistance in the case of the run-over in Amadora.
The PSP considers that there is evidence of the practice of two crimes by the influencer Tiago Grillwho stated (and later denied) having run over a person and abandoned the scene.
The police concluded the investigation into the collision that occurred in January 2024 near Bingo da Amadora and delivered the final report to the Public Prosecutor’s Office recommending charges of offense to physical integrity and failure to provide assistanceaccording to .
Tiago Grila said, in an episode of Mestre’s Podcast, that he had run over a person and left the place. During the conversation, led by Bruno Mestre, the influencer stated, between laughs, that he had run over someone on the way up “who leaves Bingo da Amadora”, while he was still distracted by his cell phone. He also described the impact: he heard “a bang”, saw the glass break and ended up running away. He later said he saw the person getting up in the rearview mirror, dismissing the crash as “a little tap.”
“I ran over someone and ran away, right there on the way up to the bingo hall in Amadora. Man, I didn’t see it, I was holding on to my cell phone”, he tried to justify it, I heard a bang and the glass broke and I ‘apre!'”, he said. But “be careful”, he said: “then I saw that she got up, calmly”.
The statements ended up coinciding with a collision recorded in that area and led to the reopening of the investigation. The victim, Marina Souzaacknowledged the case and identified Tiago Grila as the driver involved. According to her report, she was crossing the pedestrian crossing with the green light when she was hit by a vehicle that had run the red light. The impact left her unconscious and with serious injuries..
Given these elements, the PSP proposed to the Public Prosecutor’s Office the indictment for both crimes. In June last year, Tiago Grila had already been accused and subject to an identity and residence term, due to suspicions related to omission of assistance.
Right away, the influencer retreated from the statements made in the podcast. In a post published on his Instagram account, he denied any connection with the accident and classified the association of his name with the case as “completely false and unreasonable”. He later maintained that the supposed confession it was nothing more than a joke or a marketing action.
Tiago Grila’s defense presents what he considers to be a alibi: two videos — one recorded at 10 am and the other at 10 pm on the day of the accident, which happened at eight pm. Tiago Grila maintains that the distance between Amareleja (where the video was recorded) and Amadora automatically places him far from the crime scene.
Tiago Grila was in the news again in October 2025, when he was in possession of an illegal weapon with which he allegedly threatened a candidate for a parish council. In this case, he was heard at the Moura Court and released, also subject to an identity and residence permit.
The hit-and-run process now remains in the hands of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will evaluate the police report and the remaining elements gathered during the investigation.
