A missile and drone attack in the region of Kiev, capital of Ukraine, killed at least four people and injured at least 15 in the early hours of Saturday, 14th, according to the head of the city’s regional administration, Mykola Kalashnyk.

The attack hit four districts and damaged residential buildings, educational institutions, businesses and critical infrastructure, Kalashnyk wrote in a social media post.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the main target of the night attacks was “the energy infrastructure of the Kiev region.” According to him, Russia launched around 430 drones of different types, as well as 68 missiles. Russia’s Defense Ministry said the night attacks targeted industrial and energy facilities that supply Ukraine’s armed forces, as well as military airfields.

The attacks occurred days after the United States postponed peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, scheduled for this week, citing war in the Middle East.

As U.S. and Israeli missiles and bombs rain down on Iran, Russia has responded with words of outrage but no action to support its ally.

Thus, Zelenskyy called on Kiev’s Western partners to devote “full attention” to the need to increase the production of anti-aircraft missiles. “Russia will try to exploit the war in the Middle East to cause even more destruction here in Europe, in Ukraine,” he said on social media.
