A IR (Income Tax) declaration 2026 pre-filled form will be available to taxpayers from next Monday, March 23rd.
To be able to access it, each declarant must use the system gov.br, which integrates several federal government services, such as Revenue, INSS and digital signatures.
In the case of IR declaration, the user must have an account gov.br nos silver or gold levelswhich have higher verification levels. The objective of the model is to increase the layers of security on official websites, with greater processes of who is accessing the data.
A CNN brought together all the phases for the taxpayer to upgrade the gov.br account to the silver and gold levels, and thus gain access to their income tax declaration.
How to change the level
When registering in the federal government system – which can be accessed – citizens automatically receive the level “bronze” from the gov.br account, which allows you to access simpler query systems.
For bronze accounts, each time the user logs into the system, a message will appear directing them to increase their registration level. The individual can also access the option “Privacy” and then “Trust Seals” to make the change manually.
In the gov.br app, the process is identical, with the only difference being the button “Increase account level” appearing in place of the title “Trust Seals”.
Then, simply follow the instructions that will appear on the screen of the gov.br website or app. Each level – silver and gold – requires different user facial identification processes.
In order to increase the validation of their account, the taxpayer needs to authorize the system’s access, processing and use of their personal data registered in the government database.
The silver seal, the second in the security hierarchy, is obtained by facial biometrics, which is compared with the company’s database. CNH (National Driving License).
The user can also identify by banking informationif you are registered with a financial institution registered in the gov.br system.
To increase the account to the gold level, the procedure is identical to the previous one, with the difference being the fact that facial identification is compared with data from the security system. Electoral Justicewhich uses data registered with the TSE (Superior Electoral Court).
In addition to facial biometrics, you can use a digital certificate – a kind of virtual systems authenticator – valid on the system ICP-Brazil. Or, the taxpayer can read the QR code present in the new model of CIN (National Identity Card)which replaced the previous RG standard.
