US government creates alien.gov domain amid rumor of secret file

Donald Trump’s United States government registered the website domain “Aliens.gov”. The current record modified last Tuesday (17) is linked to the “Executive Office of the President” (Executive Office of the President, free translation), according to information checked by the report.

Wanted by CNN Brazilthe White House responded to the request for an explanation of the reason with an alien emoji and the phrase: stay tuned!

The change comes in line with the announcement made by Trump at the end of February. The President of the United States stated that he would ask government agencies to release files on alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena and UFOs (unidentified flying objects).

The decision was made in response by Trump to former President Barack Obama, who stated in a podcast interview that “aliens are real”, but that to this day there is no proof of this, giving a personal perception on the topic.

This topic is not new, especially in the United States. In the past, the American government’s Project Blue Book investigated cases involving UFOs, many of which remain unexplained today.

After all, what are UFOs?

Scientifically, a UFO is an unidentified flying object. I.e, Doesn’t mean it’s something linked to “extraterrestrials”. Spots in the sky, meteorological events, strange (military) aircraft, and other types of phenomena fit this description.

Brazil, for example, maintains in its National Archives a record of all UFO occurrences in national territory which computes events that are not necessarily relationships to flying saucers and beings from other planets.

“This name serves to designate any flying object that has not had its origin immediately identified. In other words, it can be satellites, drones, balloons, natural phenomena, among others”, says the agency on its website.

NASA, the United States space agency, on the other hand, changed the nomenclature it uses to deal with phenomena of this kind. Since 2022, they have used the acronym UAPs, which in Portuguese means unidentified anomalous phenomena.
