Agents from the PF (Federal Police) and PMESP (Military Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro) carried out an operation in the Jardim Catarina neighborhood, in São Gonçalo (RJ), focusing on investigating fraud in social programs and in combating drug trafficking in the region.
The action was coordinated by the Federal Police Station in Niterói, with support from the GPI (Ready Intervention Group) and military police officers from the 7th BPM (São Gonçalo). During operation, search and seizure warrants issued by Justice.
The investigations began after Caixa Econômica Federal identified signs of irregularities in the granting of social benefits, especially in CadÚnico (Single Registry for Social Programs) and Bolsa Família.
Technical analyzes pointed out records classified as “confirmed fraud”associated with the misuse of access credentials by an employee working in the municipality.
As part of the investigation, a warrant related to the insertion of false data into a computerized system of Public Administration.
At the same time, they were also fulfilled warrants against targets linked to drug trafficking in the region. According to the PF, the seized materials will be subjected to technical analysis to deepen the investigation and identify possible people involved.
