Russia expressed concern about the expansion of the area hit by US and Israeli attacks on Iran, reaching the Caspian Sea, and warned of the risk of an even greater escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.
“The American-Israeli coalition continues to escalate the war they themselves started in the Middle East, driving the situation to an even greater escalation,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a post on Telegram.

The location is one of the main commercial and logistical centers in the region and plays an important role in trade between Russia and Iran, including the transport of food.
According to the spokeswoman, the attack affected the economic interests of Russia and also other countries bordering the Caspian Sea, which maintain logistical connections with Iran through the port. She also warned that the actions could drag neighboring countries into the conflict.
