The Israeli military told AFP that there was a direct hit to a building in the town in the Negev desert. The emergency medical service announced that its workers treated 39 people at several places of impact of the rocket fragments, including a ten-year-old boy who was in a serious condition.
Images released by rescuers show a burning residential building in the city. “There was extensive damage and chaos at the scene,” it is stated in the statement. The Israeli police published photos of their officers in a building with a large hole in the wall.
There is an official nuclear research center near the town of Dimona, which is extremely well protected. It is generally assumed that they manufacture nuclear weapons there, but Israel has never acknowledged its ownership.
Iranian authorities announced this morning that the US-Israeli attacks targeted the Natanz nuclear plant in the Islamic Republic. The Israeli military also announced in the evening that it had struck a facility at the University of Tehran, which it said was being used to develop components for nuclear weapons.
