The Laundry Chair for sorting out half-dirty clothes
It’s gone. One woman even created a “storage chair” for our reusable everyday clothes.
All of us (ordinary mortals) have the mythical chair in our roomwhere clothes that are not dirty (but also not completely clean to return to the closet) pile up.
There’s no need to be ashamed. A shirt or pair of pants that you’ve only worn once doesn’t necessarily need to be washed immediately. In the chair they can air out and cool off.
Washing clothes too often also shortens their lifespan.. So the next time your mom/dad/wife/husband says your mound looks messy, tell her you’re practicing sustainable living habits.
But there is a problem with this approach: the laundry can pile up quickly like a mountain, it doesn’t breathe and you can no longer see the chair.
Simone Gertz presented the solution: Laundry Chairwhich really works as a chair, but has clothes storage at the same time.
As New Atlas presents, Simone is a Swedish inventor and YouTuber, famous as the “Queen of Terrible Robots”.
She taught herself to create robots, and her first prototypes were comically impractical – like, for example, a Wake-Up Machine that gave him slaps in the face in the morning.
At a certain point, he stopped doing stupid things and started doing useful things, which solve everyday problems.
One of them was the Laundry Chair, which has a movable bar, so instead of forming a pile, the clothes circulate around the chair.
The bar can accommodate at least 10 pieces of clothing. It measures 93.2×92.4×93.2 cm and weighs 20 kg. It has a durable solid wood frame and a removable cotton corduroy cover with zipper for easy washing.
But when it comes time to find out… it’s around €800. One investment for your mother/father/wife/husband to stop bothering you or a luxury? The reader will know better…
