Former national secretary of Justice Jean Uema will be the new director of compliance and risks at the (National Bank for Economic and Social Development).
He held the secretariat of the Ministry of Justice under former minister Ricardo Lewandowski, from 2024 to 2026.
His name was approved this Monday (23) by the bank’s board of directors, replacing Luiz Augusto Fraga Navarro de Britto Filho, who had been in the position since 2023.
Uema was also a judicial analyst at the Federal Supreme Court, legal consultant at the Ministry of Health and secretary of parliamentary affairs at the Secretariat of Institutional Relations of the Presidency of the Republic, among other positions.
“We are grateful for the excellent services provided by Navarro, who will continue to be a partner in this area, where he has a great contribution”, said the president of BNDES, .
According to him, “Uema arrives to add to our team, with its technical expertise and the experience of being part of the bank’s board of directors since 2023”, added Mercadante.
The president of the institution states that the compliance area is strategic for BNDES. “In 2026, the bank was chosen, for the third time this year, as the most transparent institution among state-owned institutions and has one of the lowest default rates in the financial system,” he said.
