stopped paying this year, federal deputy Júlia Zanatta (PL-SC) took advantage of the moment to also propose an exemption on expenses for children and adolescents with disabilities.
The project allows the full deduction of, such as medicines and therapies, but also others considered essential, such as education. The text also allows the cost of accessible transport to be deducted from the tax.
The deputy argues that the measure could have positive impacts on the economy by increasing families’ disposable income. “These are mandatory expenses, often lifelong, that currently weigh disproportionately on these families’ budgets,” he said.
The text is unlikely to be voted on in this legislature. As it is an election year, Congress usually votes on more important issues only in the first half of the year.
Furthermore, the proposal does not have government approval as it generates uncompensated fiscal expenditure.
