Years after aid in Ukraine, Russia is returning the favor to Iran

Military aid, of course, but not only that, as several tons of medicine and food are also being sent

Having received help from Iran in the war against Ukraine for years, Russia is now returning the favor. According to analyzes by European intelligence services, Moscow is completing a phased delivery of drones to Tehran.

According to , the European understanding is that the Kremlin thus seeks not to let one of its strategic and ideological partners fall, particularly in its vision against the West.

Several Iranian and Russian officials began, right at the beginning of the war, to discuss the possible sending of drones to Tehran, knowing that this is one of the regime’s greatest weapons, which has launched them against practically all targets in the Middle East, including neighboring countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates or Qatar.

The delivery process began at the beginning of March and should be completed at the end of the month, and Russia is also sending medicines and food to the country, which is facing a shortage of products, in addition to the already known sharing of information, namely through satellite images.

Asked about the possible sending of drones from Russia to Iran, the Kremlin spokesman did not comment directly on the case: “There are many lies circulating now. One thing is true – we will continue to dialogue with the Iranian leadership”, said Dmitry Peskov.

A clear message that Moscow continues to support the Iranian leadership and its regime, which it continues to try to resist, even after the death of the Supreme Leader.

Otherwise, the medicinal part is official, as the Kremlin announced the transfer of more than 13 thousand tons of medicines to Iran through Azerbaijan, planning to continue sending aid at that level.

Iran makes drones one of its most lethal and comprehensive weapons, having already launched around three thousand during the conflict, knowing that this technology is highly advanced in the country – almost everyone knows about Shahed drones -, which even supplied several unmanned vehicles to Russia at the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine.

Iranian drone production technology is so sophisticated that it was on this basis that Russia began producing its own suicide drones from 2023, modifying the Iranian design to better escape Ukraine’s defenses and carry more explosives on board.
