The 14-track album, titled ‘The Boys Of Dungeon Lane’, revives memories of his youth in Liverpool, northwest England, and the early years of the Beatles
A British legend Paul McCartney, aged 83announced this Thursday (26) the release of a new album on May 29, the first since December 2020along with the release of a single full of nostalgia.
It is 14-track album, titled “The Boys Of Dungeon Lane”relives memories of his youth in Liverpool, in northwest England, and the early years of the Beatles, before the group, formed in 1960, achieved worldwide fame.
“Dungeon Lane” is a place located near his childhood homeon the outskirts of this city. A first track released this Thursday, “Days We Left Behind”, is marked by this melancholy.
O album will bring together several new love songsas well as the artist’s reflections on the period before his rise to fame.
“There are simply many memories of Liverpool”, comments the singer on his website. “I often wonder if I’m just writing about the past, but then I say to myself, ‘How could I write about anything else?’” he adds.
In this album, the artist recounts his first adventures alongside George Harrison and John Lennonlong before ‘Beatlemania’.
Work on this album, produced by American Andrew Watt (who collaborated with Elton John and Lady Gaga), began approximately five years ago.
“The Boys of Dungeon Lane” is described as musically “eclectic”. Paul McCartney plays several instruments on the album’s tracks and explore different styles.
The artist released his first solo album, “McCartney”, in 1970, after the Beatles split. The singer also recorded seven studio albums with the group Wings, formed together with his late wife, Linda McCartney, and former Moody Blues guitarist, Denny Laine.
