3 Czech tourist routes that also attract foreigners. Where to go on foot in spring and what awaits you?

Spring weather in the Czech Republic is unpredictable and often complicates the planning of longer trips. Shorter walking routes offer more flexibility and the ability to react quickly to changes. Popular spring destinations include Pálava with vineyards and views, Kokořínsko with rock formations or the Třeboňska plain with ponds.

Short routes through Czech nature

Spring beckons outside, but the weather often does what it wants. Sun in the morning, rain and wind in the afternoon. That is why it makes no sense to plan long and difficult transitions. Shorter routes give more freedom. You can change your plan at any time, hide or extend your trip with a good meal or rest.

Output to Devin it belongs to the most demanding sections, but at the same time to the most beautiful. Ridge part towards to the ruins of the Maiden leads through an open landscape with typical steppe vegetation and a minimum of shade. Descent into Mikulova it is already calmer and will finish the whole circuit pleasantly.

Kokořínsko: rocks, history and peace

Kokořínsko is ideal for spring thanks to the forests and shorter circuits.

  • Route: Kokořín → Pokličky → Vojtěchov → back
  • Length: approx. 6–10 km
  • Difficulty: light to medium
  • Marking: blue, yellow, sometimes red

The trip starts at Kokorinawhich you can reach by car or bus. Right from the start, it draws you into the typical landscape of sandstone rocks. The path to Pokličké leads through the forest and along wooden stairs that lead you directly to the iconic rock formations. The continuation towards Vojtěchov will offer quieter sections with a minimum of people, deep ravines and smaller viewpoints. The return completes a pleasant circuit that does not seem demanding, but is varied.

Along the way, you will see rock formations, forest gorges and romantic corners. Kokořínsko has a strong atmosphere and history, which is complemented by old roads and views.
