Federal deputy Júlia Zanatta (PL-SC) minimized this Wednesday (1st) the internal disagreements in the Liberal Party (PL) involving the (PL-RJ). When commenting on possibility of Michelle giving up running for a seat in the Federal Senate After she left the presidency of PL Mulher, Zanatta stated that the final decision would be up to the former first lady, but expressed optimism about her participation in the election.
“That will be her decision, but I I’m sure she will make the choice to be a candidate“, he declared upon arriving at the meeting organized for Flávio to get closer to the women in the party.
The congresswoman also tried to dispel narratives of friction in the Bolsonarist wing as a result of recent discussions about Flávio’s electoral direction after Michelle’s statements in the media. “There is no friction, it is an issue that will be, that is being resolved“, assured the deputy, highlighting that the central alignment of the party remains unchanged. “Now we will only think about removing Lula from power and placing Flávio in the Presidency of the Republic.”
When asked about Michelle’s recent removal from command of PL Mulher, Zanatta stated that he understands the former president’s choice, given the house arrest of former president Jair Bolsonaro. “I understand and imagine what this woman is going through having to take care of her husband. She made it clear that her priority is her family”, he explained, mentioning Michelle’s routine of caring for the former president’s health.
Criticism of the government
The Santa Catarina deputy took advantage of the moment to criticize the ideological agenda of the Palácio do Planalto and the institutional language adopted by the current management. It became neutral terms in federal documents and Zanatta reinforced its customs agenda.
“The Lula government has official documents that treat women as people who give birth. I’m not a person who manages. I’m a woman. I am mother“, stated the deputy, claiming that such words promote an “erasure” of the term woman and represent disrespect for Brazilian women.
Michelle x Flávio
In a video published on Wednesday (24) on Instagram, Michelle Bolsonaro said that Flávio humiliated her in a phone call. “He mistreated me and said I should stay out of party decisions,” he declared.
According to her, Flávio “stabbed” her when defending deputy André Fernandes (PL-CE), who is president of the PL in Ceará. Fernandes declared support for the pre-candidate for the government of Ceará Ciro Gomes (PSDB) who, according to Michelle, called Flávio himself and his brothers corrupt and “eggs of Nazi snakes”. The former first lady defends the pre-candidacy of senator Eduardo Girão (Novo-CE).
Still on Wednesday night, the senator and pre-candidate spoke and said that he “never mistreated or humiliated a woman” and that if he did, “he apologizes”.
At no time did I offend or intend to offend Michelle. If I did so at any point, once again, I apologize. I have respect and recognition for her for her work at PL Mulher, for her care for my father and for everything she represents for Brazil
The former first lady spoke again this Thursday morning (25) and also lowered the tone. “To be clear: I’m not angry with anyone. I just clarified a situation that was being misrepresented”, published the president of PL Mulher on Instagram.
Michelle also wrote that there is no competition between her and former president Jair Bolsonaro’s children. “Let’s all work together to defeat the current misgovernment. There is no fight, no competition. I just ask that you do not take excerpts from my speech out of context to create confusion. A new history will be written with truth, clarity and respect. Stay at peace”, he stated.
