Vienna/Austria – The Austrian Federal Police continues to grow, despite waves of retirements. According to the 2025 personnel balance, 798 police officers retired last year and 1,422 new people were taken on at the same time. The bottom line is that there is an increase of more than 620 personnel, the Ministry of the Interior (BMI) announced in a press release on Saturday. Accordingly, there have never been as many police officers in Austria as there are currently.
