Two ships bound for India loaded with LPG pass through the Strait of Hormuz

Two ships carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) bound for India have safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz and are heading towards the Indian coast, the Indian Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said. The BW TYR and BW ELM vessels have a combined load of 94 thousand tons of LPG.

In a statement, the Indian government says that the BW TYR is on its way to Mumbai, with an estimated arrival date of March 31, while the BW ELM is heading to New Mangalore, with an estimated arrival date of April 1.

The ministry added that in the last 24 hours, there have been no reported incidents involving Indian-flagged ships, and that all Indian seafarers in the region are safe.

The report also points out that 18 Indian-flagged vessels remain in the western portion of the Persian Gulf, and says that the situation is being monitored by the Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping), in coordination with shipowners, RPSL agencies and Indian missions, with continuous monitoring of operational and safety conditions.
