The victims of plane crash in the city of Rio Claro, in the Médio Paraíba region, in the interior of Rio de Janeiro, were identified. Everaldo Pereira Da Costa Filho, and his son, Valentim Costa, were on the aircraft.
Everaldo’s death was confirmed by the CEU Squadron, on social media. Everaldo was from Rio, he was 73 years oldand accumulated more than 3,000 flight hours as a private pilot, according to the release. At the CEU Squadron, he was part of the ground support team.
The confirmation of Valentim Costa as fatal victim The accident was reported by his wife, Thayná Quirino, also on social media. “I will love you from January to January”, he wrote in one of the publications.
In another post, Thayná lamented: “Valentine went flying with his father and they are no longer with us. I am destroyed […] I’m not in a position to answer anyone.”
The accident
According to information from the Fire Department, the aircraft had collided with a hill and ended up catching fire. The accident site is 121 km from the capital of Rio de Janeiro. The bodies of the victims were found charred.

According to the corporation, the Civil Police and the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (CENIPA) were called for investigation. Until the last update, teams were still working in the area to ensure the preservation of the site.
In a statement, the PCERJ (Civil Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro) informed that the investigation is ongoing at the 168th DP (Rio Claro) and that other steps are continuing to determine the causes of the aircraft crash.
