Six Portuguese satellites will be launched this Monday on a SpaceX rocket, from California, in the United States, into space.
Fernando Pessoa, Agustina Bessa Luís, José Saramago and Luís de Camões (from the company LusoSpace)They are the first satellites, of a set of 12, dedicated to maritime communications.
In addition to these, a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite from the Portuguese Air Force and a VHRLight NexGen optical satellite, which was developed by the Portuguese Air Force, will also be launched. in partnership with N30.
The company says that the objective is to create a GPS for the oceans, to guarantee access to an internet network working at sea at any point and in any weather condition.
This project had an investment of 15 million euros, of which 10 million were financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
