At an event celebrating the corporation’s 82nd anniversary, the director general of the Federal Police states that investigations are not subject to political or ideological influence
O general director of the Federal Police (PF), Andrei Rodrigues, stated, in a speech this Monday (30), that “there was never any direction for any action” and that ongoing investigations are not influenced by political or ideological reasons.
“I am completely at ease in stating, bluntly, that during our management there was never any direction for any action or investigation,” he stated. “The Federal Police does not protect or persecute. Here we work impartially”, he said, at an event celebrating the corporation’s 82nd anniversary.
Andrei’s defense of the PF’s work occurs amid the advancement of Master Bank investigations and also after the corporation itself requested the breaking of Fábio Luís Lula da Silva’s banking secrecy, the Lulinhaeldest son of the President of the Republic.
Andrei also took advantage of his speech to praise the performance of the president of the Central Bank, Gabriel Galípolo, stating that the body’s actions were essential for the advancement of the Master’s investigations.
The PF general director also praised the head of the Financial Activities Control Council (Coaf), Ricardo Saadi, at a time when the body’s actions have been criticized.
“Your commitment to public affairs, seriousness and competence at the head of Coaf are worthy of mention”, he stated, addressing Saadi, present at the event.
Last Friday (27) the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes imposed a series of restrictions on the provision of information and financial intelligence reports (RIF) by Coaf. The decision occurs in the context of the exposure of members of the Court and their families in intelligence reports prepared by the body.
