Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) stated that the Strait of Hormuz remains under “full control” of its Navy and rejected any possibility of reopening under the conditions suggested by the United States.
In a statement, the force said that the strategic route “will not be reopened to the enemies of this nation through the ‘ridiculous theatrics’ of American President Donald Trump.
The demonstration comes after Trump stated that Tehran had requested a ceasefire, making Washington’s decision conditional on the reopening of the Strait, through which a significant portion of the global oil flow passes.
Also this Wednesday, the spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry denied the version presented by Trump. In an interview with Al Jazeerahe said that “statements about a call for a ceasefire are not true.”
