Rota Mogiana will have fares up to 50% lower, says SP government – 03/31/2026 – Panel

The new one will have reductions in toll values of up to 50%, according to projections by the São Paulo government. The value will fall from R$17.60 charged on passenger vehicles to R$8.80 in Jaguariúna.

The Route, which went up for auction at the end of February, covers 520 km of highways that are currently under the administration of DER/SP (São Paulo Highway Department) and the concessionaire Renovias.

The highway will adopt a free flow toll system, with proportional charging via gantries.

In the stretch from Campinas to Jaguariúna, the projected value is R$7.65 until 2028, lower than the current one. There will also be a reduction in Águas da Prata (27%), Estiva Gerbi (26%), Espírito Santo do Pinhal and Itobi (20%), Casa Branca (13%), Mococa (9%) and Aguaí (5%).

According to the state government, the initial kilometric tariff will be around 20% lower than the current one, ensuring greater tariff balance between regions. Under the proportional charging model, the user only pays for the route actually traveled.

Frequent users will have progressive discounts, which can reach up to 20% per month. Motorcyclists remain exempt from payment. The system provides a period of up to 30 days for payment.

The change in the toll collection system to free flow has been explored by the opposition to Tarcísio and should be one of the themes of the campaign for the state government.

Rota Mogiana promises investments of R$9.4 billion throughout the contract. Duplications of more than 217 km of highways in the concession area are planned, in addition to 138 km of additional lanes and 86 km of new marginal roads.

The project also includes the construction of 58 pedestrian walkways and 129 intersection devices, in addition to local roads.
