Unexpected words from Kyiv: Zelenskyy talks about the best situation on the front in ten months

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that the situation at the front is the best for Kyiv in the last ten months. This follows from statements published by his office on Friday, TASR reports, according to the Reuters agency.

“Overall, the front line is holding… The situation is difficult, but the best in the last ten months,” said Zelenskyy, referring to the data of the Ukrainian and British intelligence services.

At the same time, Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukrainian troops foiled the Russian offensive last month. “The offensive they planned in March was foiled by the intervention of our armed forces. That is why the Russians will now intensify their offensive operations,” the president noted.

The Ukrainian leader also said he invited US negotiators to visit Kyiv during an online meeting earlier this week. He noted in response to his proposal “positive signals”.

The AFP agency adds that the purpose of the invitation is to resume trilateral negotiations with Russia. “I invited the American negotiating delegation to Kyiv. The delegation will do everything possible in the current conditions – during the war with Iran – to come to Kyiv,” confirmed Zelensky.
