It can rightly be said about him that he was a true criminal legend: Max Edelbacher, former head of the security office – the forerunner of today’s State Criminal Police Office (LKA), is dead. Edelbacher died last weekend at the age of 81 after a long, serious illness. The Austrian Criminal Service Association (VKÖ) confirmed this to the APA on Thursday. Edelbacher was in the police service until 2006 and the author of numerous books and other publications.
