Mom thought her daughter († 10) had a headache from staring at the tablet for a long time: The symptoms turned out to be a deadly tumor!

Ten-year-old Myla Lilly Broadey-Meears tragically died after her mother Chantelle initially thought her migraines and dizziness were caused by playing on a tablet for too long. However, doctors discovered that she had a huge brain tumor that required immediate treatment. , despite the intensive efforts of medical professionals, the little girl finally succumbed to a serious illness.

  • The girl died of an aggressive brain tumor.
  • Before the diagnosis, he complained of severe headaches and dizziness.
  • The optician discovered an approximately ten-centimeter malignant tumor in his brain.

Chantelle from the English city of Sheffield revealed that her daughter was completely healthy and had no problems. Everything changed during a family vacation in August 2025, when Myla started complaining of severe headaches. “She wore sunglasses all the time. She didn’t want to participate in any activities, which was unusual for her. She loved the climbing wall, but suddenly she had trouble taking even the first step. My partner and I noticed that she was losing her balance and was kind of clumsy” said the mother.

At first, the parents assumed that her symptoms were only caused by playing on the tablet for a long time. Chantelle also thought that Myla might need glasses since she wears them herself. So when they returned home, they took her to the optician for an examination. But there they learned shocking news – the daughter had an aggressive tumor in her brain with a size of approximately ten centimeters.

She fought until the last moment

Myla was immediately taken to the hospital, where three days later she underwent surgery to remove the tumor. Although the surgeons managed to remove more than 60% of the dangerous mass, according to Chantelle, her daughter was not the same after the operation. “Before the holiday, she couldn’t even sit still for two minutes. Suddenly she wasn’t the chatty little girl anymore. She seemed like she was completely absent.” she stated sadly.

The day before Myla started treatment, Chantelle gave birth to a baby boy, Tommy. The devastated mother had to take care of both the newborn and her terminally ill daughter at the same time. “She underwent 30 rounds of radiotherapy. It was an incredibly difficult time for us as I had just given birth to Tommy,” she added.

The brave little girl eventually succumbed to cancer despite intensive treatment. “Myla died on January 15, just four days after her tenth birthday. After the general anesthesia, which they had to perform during the magnetic resonance, she did not recover. When her time came, she was surrounded by her entire family,” recalls Chantelle.

The family are now doing all they can to keep the memory of the beloved Myla alive while raising money for The Brain Tumor Charity. Chantelle also urges parents to look out for any warning signs to avoid a similar tragedy. “The more awareness there is about this disease, the more we can help others. I promised Myla that I would tell people how brave she was. That’s also why I want her story to reach as many people as possible” concluded the devastated mother.
