Examples
The journalist said that “you haven’t heard much” about Russia defending Iran in the war with the USA and Israel. This is in the original version. But in the Russian translation you hear: “You defended your ally, the Islamic Republic of Iran, very much.”
When Léa Salamé talks about “the tens of thousands of Ukrainian civilians who died in this war”, the Russian translation reduces this number to “hundreds” – and changes the question to minimize any reference to potential war crimes.
Another example: after a question about the Russian threat in France, the version released by Moscow attributes to the journalist a “I understand,” insinuating that Salamé understands the position of the minister and the Russian Government.
