The President of the United States, Donald Trump, said in an interview with NBC News this Friday (3) that the crash of an American jet in Iran does not hinder negotiations with the Iranian regime.
Asked about the potential impact of the downing of the aircraft on the negotiations, he replied: “No, not at all. It’s war. We are at war.”
Earlier, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed to have shot down an American F-15E fighter jet. The American press said that one of the crew was rescued and an operation was underway to rescue another of them. Despite confirming the crash of the jet, Trump did not give details about the operations.
A second American plane reportedly crashed in the Gulf region this Friday. Even today, the semi-official Fars news agency stated that the 48-hour period last Wednesday (1).
