The victims, who were aged 5 and 10could not resist the injuries and died at the scene. Two others were injured and taken to area hospitals.
According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat, the driver of the vehicle was drunk and was driving at high speedwhen he lost control, he invaded the sidewalk and ran over children who were in front of a residence.
The car collided with the gate and It also hit other parked vehicles. The perpetrator of the crime was arrested by the police after being restrained by residents.
According to the ministry, the 64-year-old man was taken to the 3rd Police District of the municipality, where was charged with homicide and negligent bodily injury while driving a motor vehicle.
