Slovakia must prepare for a real test of nature. The latest weather models and forecast maps do not bode well. In the coming days, we are expecting an extreme change in weather, warns the portal.
“Easter Sunday will bring Slovakia the warmest weather since the beginning of the year, but it will only last for a few hours. During the next night, the weather will start to change significantly and the warm days will end,” the Slovak website warns.
A pressure trough is moving over our area, bringing with it rainfall totals. The dreaded frosts should intensify in the coming days. It should freeze in several places on Thursday and Friday morning. Stronger winds may occur in the mountains, especially in central Slovakia, in the coming days. This is pointed out by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ), which issued warnings of the first level.
“The situation looks very dangerous during Friday, when the high pressure will move over the Baltic Sea and even colder air could penetrate to us from the northeast. This would bring even more significant cooling, and this time it may not end only with a drop in temperature. There is even the potential for snow to return,” iMeteo is protected.
