Video posted with Persian subtitles shows step-by-step how Iranian technology can down fighter jets
A video showing how Iran can use low-cost equipment to shoot down American fighter jets has gone viral on Chinese social media in recent weeks. The video was posted by a Chinese engineer’s account called “Old Hu talks about the world” on a social network similar to YouTube with subtitles in Persian.
The video was also shared by other accounts on Chinese –o X. On Bilibili, the video was published on May 14 and has accumulated almost 100 thousand views and 33 thousand likes.
The images represent a step-by-step guide on how to shoot down aircraft using equipment that the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard of Iran) has available. The author of the video explains in detail the best type of radar to identify approaching fighters and indicates civilian sectors where it is possible to obtain the equipment to use them on the battlefront.

The author uses as an example the North American F-35 fighter, which is being used by the United States in the war against Iran. On May 19, 5 days after posting the images, the Iranian Armed Forces reported that during a military operation in its airspace. There is no indication that the video influenced this operation.
On Friday (April 3, 2026), Iran reported that, this time, an F-15E. US troops pilot the fighter. The soldier waited for rescue hiding in a mountain crevice for more than 24 hours, avoiding being captured by Iranian forces.
If, on the one hand, the video teaches how to shoot down military fighters, it also shows the type of equipment that Iran can use for these operations. This exposure can be exploited by military personnel to neutralize this anti-aircraft defense.
