Caiado says he has a platform in the Northeast for 2026 – 04/07/2026 – Politics

The pre-candidate for the Presidency of the PSD, former governor of Goiás, minimized the arrival of parliamentarians more aligned with President Lula (PT) to his party and stated that his platform in the Northeast during the campaign “will surprise”.

after the party window, in which federal deputies can change parties without running the risk of losing their mandate, the party saw its bench in the Chamber become closer to President Lula.

Asked about it this Tuesday (7) during the 68th, in São Paulo, Caiado said that he had already spoken to parliamentarians.

“You can rest assured because I will have a base and a platform in the Northeast that will surprise a lot. Today the Northeast is very committed to bringing in a President of the Republic who has the sensitivity to know the development potential in the region. The Northeasterners have already lent their prestige to the current president, but they have become enslaved by criminal factions and corruption”, stated the pre-candidate.

In the region, names from the center tend to stick with Lula due to the PT member’s popularity. It is expected that the change in the bench’s profile will increase internal resistance to the former governor’s name and that the PSD’s northeastern leaders will campaign for the current president.

Caiado also stated that the president’s popularity is in “free fall” in the region, which would favor alliances with his supporters.

“I’m sure I’m going to burst this bubble. I’m not a candidate for swearing, nor for likes and polarization. I’m a politician with results. I’m only certain: I’m going to the second round, beating Lula and governing Brazil,” he declared.

Earlier this Tuesday, . The PSD leader followed the presidential candidate’s speech this Tuesday.

At the municipalities congress this Tuesday, the pre-candidate waved to the mayors and councilors from the interior of São Paulo who were part of the audience. He criticized the PT administration and the tax reform, which he considers to centralize power in the federal government and weaken city halls.

Caiado also said that Brazil has been discussing January 8th for three years and wants an end to the discussion. He stops those involved in the attempted coup d’état.
