The Executive Committee of Rio Grande do Sul gave an ultimatum to the regional directory and said that it was necessary to build an electoral tactic around Juliana Brizola’s pre-candidacy for the state government.
The national PT defends the alliance with and says that the political decision to be taken must be aligned with the national reading. In a tough tone, the executive calls for coherence and responsibility from the party itself and guides support for the allied party.
“Define the construction of a joint electoral tactic with the PDT and other parties in the democratic field, under the leadership of comrade Juliana Brizola, as a political expression of this strategy in the state of Rio Grande do Sul”, he states.
The party caresses Edegar Pretto (PT), and says that he has the legitimacy to build a joint electoral tactic with the PT and other parties in the democratic field.
If the regional directory does not comply with the national executive’s determination, it may be subject to intervention. The PT has already scheduled a new meeting for April 23rd to discuss the matter.
The document says that support for the PDT is “a necessary step to define the political strategy and strengthen the president’s reelection platform in the state.”
The note mentions the advance of the extreme right in Brazil and around the world and says that it is necessary to build a broad field led by a center-left alliance.
The party also determined the creation of a commission together with allied parties to prepare the guidelines for the government program for the state.
