Luís Montenegro and António José Seguro
I“very positive” interventions by António José Seguro; find solutions, not problems; alignment between the two.
The Prime Minister considered the President of the Republic’s interventions on the bad weather, classifying them as “a constructive impulse” for faster support and assuming that there is a difference between expectations and the immediate result.
Com Antonio José Seguro in the front row, Luis Montenegro spoke at the signing ceremony of a protocol between the Mission Structure for the reconstruction of the central region of the country and foundations, an initiative integrated into the agenda of the open Presidency of the head of State, which runs until Friday in the regions most affected by the bad weather in February.
By showing that the Government is aligned with the Presidency, he presented praise, in an almost saccharine version, as described by .
“I want, on this occasion, to say, Mr. President, that we have registered as your interventions and interactions with people are very positivewith communities, institutions, local authorities, in a impulse what is constructive so that all administrative bodies and all structures of our society can converge to be faster in executing, acting and transforming into reality what is often in our intentions, in our interventions and even in new legal and institutional instruments”, he stated.
Sure, continued Montenegro, he has always been “a political personality who for some years has been cultivating many interventions of appreciation of territorial cohesion“.
And he also reacted to the president’s appeals. On the part of Government there is this commitment, said the Prime Minister, also thanking the President of the Republic for the “unsurpassable cooperation” in the faster handling of legislative procedures regarding bad weather.
Explaining that for people and companies to access support, there are procedures that need to be followed, Montenegro assured that he is aware of the difference “between the expectation that is created and the result that occurs” and that everything is being done to “reduce this difference”.
He also praised Tomar’s choice: he reveals the “special social sensitivity from Mr. President.”
Furthermore, it showed an apparent tune, no games: “We have both talked about this many times. We don’t need no blame or blame gamesnor trying to contribute to any type of controversy surrounding this accountability. We want to solve the problems.”
Insurance and solutions
In his speech, the President of the Republic repeated that “the solidarity of the Portuguese cannot dispense with the responsibility of the State”. He reinforced: “And we are also here, in particular the Prime Minister, to assume this responsibility”.
António José Seguro argued that, with the Presidency open, he intends to “help the find solutions” and not “create problems” in responding to bad weather, considering that this is not the time to make “any assessment”.
“All of us, the Prime Minister too, all the members of the Government, the mayors, especially the parish and municipality mayors, are very sorry, on a daily basis and in the contact With people, there is often disillusionment, discouragement and, therefore, our actions, more than our words, are crucial at this moment in national life”, he stated.
Seguro explained that the focus of his first open Presidency, in the Central region, is “helping alleviate people’s difficulties and focused on solutions to their problems”.
“I know that the executive power belongs to the Government, which the Prime Minister heads, and, therefore, my contribution in the open presidency is to help find solutions, not to cause problems. Getting into trouble since the country is full”, he assured.
For the President of the Republic, who has insisted on several occasions on the need for support to be swift, it is necessary to concentrate “all efforts” so that “the lives of people who have been severely affected, whether private lives or business lives, can quickly be restored, recovered and people can return to their normal lives”.
“That’s the sense and the dever which I consider the President of the Republic should have. This is the meaning and duty that I will continue to do from now until Friday in this open presidency”, he promised.
