Seconds from the tragedy near Sereda: the car drove directly in front of the oncoming train

The collision between a passenger vehicle and a train at the railway crossing between the village of Gáň and the city of Sereď was avoided on Friday afternoon without any injuries. According to findings so far, the car driver did not respect the light and sound signals and entered the crossing directly in front of the oncoming train. The Trnava regional police informed about it.

“There were two people in the vehicle who were extremely lucky and escaped unhurt. The breathalyzers of both the driver and the train driver were negative,” added the police, stating that the incident is registered as a damage incident. Traffic is currently stopped in both directions.
