Lula criticizes governor of SC for not wanting to partner with the government in Petrobras

The President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), criticized the governor of Santa Catarina, Jorginho Mello (PL), this Friday (26), for not wanting to partner with the federal government on Petrobras initiatives. The PT member is in Itajaí, on the coast of Santa Catarina, where he visits work on offshore support vessels contracted by the state-owned company at the Detroit Brasil shipyard.

“The Minister of Transport (George Santoro) is saying that he approached the State government to carry out projects in partnership with the federal government involving an investment of R$24 billion here in the State. And what was the governor’s argument?”, asked Lula.

Santoro replied: “There was no argument, president. He simply didn’t want to do it in partnership. These are projects like the one run by the government of Paraná. We held six auctions in Paraná, with R$110 billion already contracted. The two projects were together in the same period and we had to redo the projects, we lost two years, and that’s why we are now putting them in a public hearing to be auctioned.”
